It's been a busy start to 2016 at GBSA. Numerous projects have continued from 2015 and just as many new projects have recently begun. Updates on the happenings at the studio:
The tender for the new 60,000 sf St. Simon Catholic School in Toronto closes March 31. More information on this project can be found here. Other works in the educational sphere include several renovation projects with the Waterloo District School Board, which are currently in the design phase, as well as design work at the Registrar's Office for Queen's University in Kingston.
GBSA was recently selected to design a renovation for the Thornbury Cider and Brewing Company in Thornbury, Ontario which will feature a storefront where you will be able to buy cider and beer directly from the brewery
Submission for the new St. Clair/Silverthorn Library Site Plan Approval will happen this week. More information on this project can be found here. Additionally, an exciting new design for a mixed use commercial/residential building in Bloor West Village on Bloor St. West will also be submitted for Site Plan Approval shortly.
Finally, construction has completed for Dentistry on Bay where GBSA designed a total renovation of the space. Solid walnut doors, counter-tops, and window frames accent the reception area and operatory rooms, while a custom glass wall and flowing dropped ceiling evoke ocean waves that bring a sense of calmness into what can traditionally be a stressful space. Pictures to follow shortly!
